This week's biggest Loser!

A card I made for my Slimming World group. Each week we have a Slimmer of the week and everyone takes a peice of fruit etc for the box. I always take a card and this was one I made for last weeks winner.
The stamp is from the 'Flippin' series of stamps.
I cut an aperture in the front of the card and then stamped the front and back of the image onto card. Coloured it with Promarkers and then suspended it in the middle using string.

Sunday 22 August 2010

This little card turned out so pretty and fresh looking :-) It is for a friend who had a little boy three weeks ago. I used a new stamp that I bought from Rheged and coloured it with Promarkers. Then I layered it on a nestie, added ribbon, flowers, brads, a little heart and a sentiment. I rounded the corners of the card and used Dandelion and Daisy co-ordinating backing papers.
Hopefully I will get to see the little fella before too long otherwise I may need to turn it into a first birthday card! Lol

Rainy Days

What a damp morning it was but so humid!
I made this card for a friend who was unwell and used my new Rachelle Anne Miller stamp 'Rainy days'. What a lovely stamp it is. I coloured it with Promarkers and then added some 3D Clear gloss to make it look wet. I added some stick on gems as rain and layered it all on nesties (pinched from my mum)

Let's hope the weather cheers up soon! Happy Crafting :-))

I'm back!

Well what a long time I have been missing! Life has just got in my way lately and there are just not enough hours in the day.

I hope life has been good to you all. We had a dreadful month or two in which my beautiful aunty Dot was very ill and unfortunately we lost her on 23rd July. She was a huge part of my life and it is still unbelievable that she is gone, but I am glad that she is no longer suffering and I know that she went knowing we all loved her hugely. We have a wonderful family.

I have spent many hours over the past few months riding my new horse Fever and getting to know her. She is absolutely super and such fun!So unfortunately card making has been pushed to Saturdays during the two weeks when hubby is at work and I can go and play with my mum for a few hours (well actually usually about 12hrs lol)

This is a card I made for a friends wedding this week:

The flower stamp is one I have had for ages and is a Stamptivity stamp, coloured with Promarkers.
I also used the stamp to create this sympathy card for my cousin after aunty Dot died:

This card I made for our friend's wedding anniversary. My mum and dad bought me some distress inks for my birthday and this was the blue one. I also used my mum's Cricut to create the heart and the letters G & J.

So apologies for being missing so long and I promise to try and get some more cards uploaded soon. Take care and Happy Crafting!

Lazing in the sun

Well isn't this weather just absolutely lovely! I have spent the past two days lazing in my hammock soaking up the rays :-) with plenty of Fator 50 on as I am very fair skinned.

Fever has been lunged for the past two days as it is just too hot to tack up and ride. Yesterday she had a nice sponge bath to cool her off but today she is staying in her stable in the shade for a couple of hours. It will help to keep her figure a little more trim and hopefully save her from some of the fly bites that she is suffering :-(

We had a BBQ last night which was meant to be 'just us' but both eldest sons brought friends so it was a little more involved than I was thinking it would be lol. It's nice that they feel comfortable to bring their mates though without an invite.

Middle son is off to start a new job today. He leaves about 3pm to go and find his digs in Gainsborough and then tomorrow starts his new job as an Instrument Tech for EDF Energy. I am so nervous for him as he has been out of work since finishing his apprenticeship in August last year! Please pray that he finds his feet there and really enjoys it.

I have made a couple of pretty cards this week but I am not happy with the photos of them so I have ordered a light tent (Passionforcrafts recommended one) and will post them once I can get them to look nice.

I hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather and taking good care of your skin too.

Coming along nicely!

Sorry there have been no new cards on my blog folks but I have been working hard :-))

I hope you like my new look blog? I have added a page to put all the candy offers on as my side bar was getting rather full. I hope this works and that people will still manage to find the offers on my blog. Please let me know what you think.

I have altered my background and even managed to create my own header! ooooh and I also added a counter at the bottom of the page! How clever am I??? lol

I have also managed to make some cards too and really enjoyed making some stepped cards that I saw on the DoCrafts website.

The first one I made is for my sons 18th birthday in July

I used the It's a man's world stamps and Promarkers to create my little men.

I have quite a few more cards to post too but the h*******k is calling so watch this space...

Fighting Fit!

Well here I am back to fighting fit again...well almost :)

Did a very silly thing last week when I accidently ingested some horse wormer! All I can say is after a day in hospital on a drip I am now free of all parasites ever known to man...or at least I had better be lol Managed to get Slimmer of the week at SW after losing 6lbs this week! Bit of a fraud really but they insited I have it :-)

So having not been able to make cards for a few days I was eager to get back to it. Spent a nice day at my mum's on Saturday getting our weekly fix.

This is this weeks Slimmer of the week card which I have made for the SW box:

It is Daisy and Dandelion paper on a scallopped card. Then a pink ribbon vertically in the centre of the page. A piece of blue card and more paper layed with a blue ribbon horizontally across them. I then added a ribbon to the top. The image is taken from my crafting magazine and stuck to card with promarker around the edges. I am also intending to use this card in Claire's challenge on DoCrafts :)

I am also always short of men's cards so made this one:

Saturday 17 April 2010

I have been busy!

Sorry it has been so long since I posted anything new! I have been making cards but have just not got round to taking photos of them :-(

I really need to get to grips with my camera too so I can get some decent photos. They always come out pale and a bit disappointing. I have taken these on my phone.

The first card was made for a DC challenge. The card had to be purple and green, have spots, a sentiment, a ribbon and a Tilda stamp.

The second I have made for my eldest sons best friend. He recently got married.

The third is a blank card that I made to have in for those occasions when you suddenly need a card.

It is Willow coloured in orage shades and I added a big button, ribbon and some gold candy. The insert is blank with just two orange scrolls in the corners.

The fourth is using a Sarah kay stamp coloured with (yes you guessed it) Promarkers, a sentiment, candy, flower and brads to hold everything in place.

I really liked this candy pink paper with green and brown stripes. Again the card is blank so it can be used for most occasions.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter to everyone. May God's love surround you all.

I have been VERY good today and not eaten any chocolate at all (sob sob!) I have just started at Slimming World so I am trying to be good this week :-)

On Friday I actually got a couple of hours to create some cards and then on Saturday popped to my mum's for an hour and made a couple more.

At Slimming World they have a box to pop fruit and low cal goodies in for that week's slimmer of the week. Not really knowing what to take I thought a card would be nice and I took a little pot of Nivea moisturiser. Little did I know that they would be spotted and made a big thing of as something new and nice to do! Oh the embarrasment on my first week lol.

But now what have I started! I now feel that I should take a card each week for the 'biggest loser'. Fortunately I found some slimming embellishments in my Creativity magazine! Fab!

These are two I made at my mum's yesterday.

Monday 22 March 2010

Paper cellar papers and a Personal Impressions stamp all layered. Added a pretty flower and brad, sticky ribbon and stamped sentiment. Again one of my favourites!
Stamp coloured with Promarkers and layered on grey card. Added to a Papercellar grey tartan paper on a square card with corners rounded. The vine up the side is a creativity FREE stamp with a little flower and brad to add colour. Just edged the card witha grey Promarker to finish off.
I am really pleased with how this card came out! It is one of my favourites :-)

Mother's day card

I made this for my fabulous mum! I love her so much and we were about ready to go to Harrogate Papercraft show where of course we would be doing a 'lot' of shopping! lol
I used a Personal Impressions stamp and coloured it with my promarkers. Then layered it on lilac and white card. I used a sheet of PaperCellar tartan paper to cover a square card and added ribbon, bow and charm. I cut the word MUM using my mum's Cricut and stuck on with sticky squares to add depth.

Sunday 7 March 2010

I covered a 14.5cm square card with a pretty Papermania Signature Regency Paper. The chair for this card was made using ribbon stuck onto card so that it folds out from the card to give depth. I then stamped a GG stamp and coloured her with Promarkers. After cutting her out carefully she was stuck into the fold of the chair with a deep ribbon behind her to act as a cushion. Using flowers that I cut out with a punch I added brads to fit them around her chair. Stamped a sentiment onto the paper and added a pretty pink ribbon and brad to give a feminie feel.

Monday 1 March 2010

This is one of my favourite cards! Layered papers and a Sarah Kay stamp coloured with Promarkers. Then some brads to finish off :)

Well that's gone and done it!

What have I done? On Friday I handed in my resignation at work and gave, as per my contract, 24hrs notice!
So here I am on Monday a 'lady of leisure' :)
How did I spend my first day as unemployed? Well I mucked my horse out, took hubby to the Drs with his tennis elbow, had lunch, emulsioned the hall and stairs, did the horse again and cooked a tea, made some soup for tomorrow too :)
How does it feel? Absolutely bloomin fantastic!

Pretty in Green

I started this card with no idea what I was going to do and ended up with this! I cut squares of paper (Olivine Essence Creative Tones) and then rounded the edges using a punch. They were then layered onto slightly larger pieces of a goldy/brown card and put on the card using sticky pads to add depth. Then i added a bow and some flowers and brads.
basic but I think quite effective.

Coming to see you!

I made this card using:
Papercellar checks backing paper, three buttons, a Sarah Kay stamped image ' Rosalies bicycle' colured with promarkers and mounted on a gold card. A sentiment printed and tore out and then the edge marked with a Promarker. I cut away the edge of the card and put a strip of checked paper along it to show. Added a sticky ribbon the the top edge of the card.

Flowers in the window

For this card I cut four square windows out of a square card. I then added Poundshop flowers to partly cover the windows and sticky crystals.
I stamped a sentiment on card and tore it out. I then used the wide end of a Promarker to colour the torn edge and stuck the sentiment to the middle of the card.

Rhianna

I have made this for niece's 4th birthday this weekend.
I used letters cut on my mum's Cricut and Papercellar Easter/Spring collection backing paper
I coloured Tilda with Dalecarlia Coat with Promarkers and layered her on coloured card, adding a stamped sentiment.
I then added brads to finish.

Monday 22 February 2010

This is one of my latest cards.
I made it using Daisy and Dandelion backing paper and a Sarah Kay stamp.
I love these stamps! I coloured it with my Promarkers.
Added ribbon and a stamped sentiment.
Topping it off with a flower and brad.
